You may not be a direct customer of Boviteq West. You may not plan to ever be. That doesn’t mean you don’t benefit from the investment WestGen has made to offer the IVF services to western producers. With the August proof round the first sires produced from Boviteq West residents have made their way onto the proof sheet. In many cases these sires have already been used as sires for the next generation of genetic gain.

Two examples, Westcoast RANDALL and Westcoast PLEDGE are new Genomax sires – both are among a very elite group of bulls that offer +3400 LPI and +12 Conformation and both will have sons at Semex in a year’s time. Two more Genomax bulls –MACADAM and TICKET are now also available to producers and there will be many more making their debut in the coming year.

As Boviteq West continues to move forward we will see more and more benefits of the IVF technology that extend beyond the customers who choose to access the services. Never has the next generation been able to impact all herds so quickly.

One of the most rewarding things we see here is the young donors coming in that we’ve helped create, knowing that many are full sisters to bulls you will be using, like some of those mentioned. When you’re collecting those juvenile donors it becomes more and more apparent how the IVF technology fits into today’s genetics industry.
